That sounds a bit of a stretch. Am I going to listen to you or subscribe, no. Wish you would just answer the question. Too much talking. I’m a diabetic. I tried Paul’s diet. It raised my blood sugar and A1C due to too many carbs. I do better on a lower carb diet where I eat less than 75 carbs a day. Also, I felt sick and would get sick when I stopped eating vegetables. I do think avoiding processed foods and seed oils are very important. I can’t eat very low carb or I get electrolyte imbalances.

Professor Noakes' central argument is to say, "Look at me, I was a lean, healthy runner, and yet I developed type 2 diabetes, all because I was eating too many carbs." This argument is false on multiple levels: First, he was not eating healthy carbs like beans and lentils and fruit and whole grains. By his own admission, he was eating tons of bread and sugary drinks. These are high glycemic foods and they are devoid of nutrients. They will make you prone to developing visceral fat. Legumes and fruit in particular are strongly negatively associated with the development of diabetes. Second, long distance running is NOT a healthy form of exercise. Sure, it will make you lean overall, but it also makes you prone to developing visceral fat, at least in part because it is associated with high cortisol levels. Visceral fat is a marker for mitochondrial dysfunction of your liver and pancreas. Mitochondrial dysfunction is the mechanism by which we start to develop insulin resistance, and it is the mechanism by which we start to get fat despite our best efforts to calorie restrict, and it is the mechanism by which we eventually develop type 2 diabetes.

Not sure about what she says. We know seed oils are harmful, ok, but the other studies she refers to, could not be considered serious studies. When someone refers to this or that study, I would recommend to find and read the study. The one she refers to, is a 2 weeks study. Two weeks. Is gluconeogenesis not using fat but protein instead?. We don´t know. Why does she assume that?, Because a two week study?. Many sport men are not having problems. Would be clever to introduce carbs in some circumstances?. probably. But beans and nuts may not be a good advice. Oxalates and bloating may be a problems. Beans don´t feel good for many people.

I went to an advanced dental clinic for years. Over time my periodontitis got worse and my gums were receding. They took X-rays every time the insurance allowed it, wanted to replace crowns and suggested continuous deep cleanings. I spent a lot of money for torture in the dental chair. - That led me to follow Dr. Ellie‘s program. After a few weeks my gums stopped bleeding and my teeth were white. After a few month my gums grew back. It worked for me, and I get to keep my money.

In late 2021 I was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment. At that time the term mild seemed too little to me. I started reading Dr. Dale Bredesen's books and to the best of my ability I tried to follow the diet plans in the books, which was difficult because most of the meals were some of the most disgusting foods for my pallet. I hate yogurt in all forms and will actually cause me to vomit it immediately. I also hate avocados and olives, to include olive oil. I started eating bacon and eggs every day and chili for dinner every night with a tablespoon of MCT oil every breakfast and dinner. The mild cognitive impairment stopped advancing and I managed to reverse the brain fog to a significant degree. I did intermediate fasting and entered ketosis. I ended up in ketosis and using glucose simultaneously. But, then my metabolism went a little crazy and I quickly lost virtually all of my body fat because it was all turned into ketones. I'm 5 foot 10 and I weighed between 160 and 150 pounds, but with the near total loss of my body fat I dropped down to 113 pounds. I still can't gain weight no matter what I try to do. My doctor asked me to take an MRI and we found some capillary brain shrinkage in my frontal lobe. I immediately sought out a way to boost my nitric oxide to open up my capillaries in my frontal lobe. I've been using Dr. Bryan's lozenges for a little over a week and I'm slowly feeling a difference in my frontal lobe on a couple of occasions I forgot to use my MCT oil a couple of days. Although I could tell my brain was missing the MCT oil it wasn't as devastating as it would have been without the lozenges. I really would like to know Dr. Bryan's opinion on what he thinks and if he thinks the nitric oxide is opening up my capillaries. My job includes a lot of physical work and each day I'm having a lot less fatigue at the end of my work day. I'm 67 years old and I don't have ED. Even before I started using the lozenges I would wake up with morning erections over half of the time. Since I started using the lozenges the morning erections have increased and last longer. I wasn't seeking out erections and they aren't even my goal. My goal is to save my brain and restore it. I ask you Dr. Bryan, would you consider these symptoms to be an indication that the nitric oxide lozenges are increasing my amount of nitric oxide in my system. BTW, I have never had high blood pressure whereas most of my family members had or have high blood pressure. I have always been closer to lower blood pressure from the time I was a child and in more recent years my blood pressure has been more in the normal range. I've never had high cholesterol either, no matter what I ate. I'm going to start testing my blood pressure daily after using the lozenges to see how much of an effect the nitric oxide is having. Please Dr. Bryan, my family has a history of vascular dementia and I need some feed back to know if the nitric oxide might be clearing up my capillaries. Jeff

Wow Jesse, fabulous interview. Love the genius of Dr. Davis. As usual, you had great questions to draw it out. Too bad he didn’t cover the new data about what’s called the “CAC Paradox.” This is cutting-edge data out of JACC (American College of Cardiology, top cardiology school on the planet) and Cleveland Clinic (ranked #1 globally for cardiovascular care) where they labeled this - the CAC Paradox/ It’s so new he may not know about it yet. The Dr. John Rumberger criteria Dr. Davis brought up is from back in 2008. CAC Paradox is a counter-intuitive process where a person gets a CAC score of say 600, proceeds on a successful lifestyle change (drops weight, eats better, working out, all blood markers fantastically better, etc.) and their score goes UP, not down! This new data shows that’s a GOOD thing. To be clear, it wasn’t a paradox to the researchers and doctors, but they knew it would be puzzling for patients. The patient has stabilized their soft, inflamed, dangerous plaque which IS the cause of heart attacks and strokes. I quote Cleveland Clinic “The CAC (Coronary Artery Calcium) score is like the tip of an iceberg, whereas the soft plaque is what’s under the surface. What’s really dangerous is the soft plaque, and estimates reflect an approximately four times as much soft plaque present as hard, or calcified, plaque.” That means your subsequent CAC score can go from 600 to 2,400 and you are actually BETTER and out of danger. You’ve turned your soft, unstable, inflamed, and dangerous plaque into stable, non-dangerous, calcified plaque. This was also confirmed in another new study from JAMA Cardiology titled “The Importance of Coronary Artery Calcium Density.” So don’t freak out if your score goes UP instead of down after getting healthier. I was fortunate to get this new science into my book prior to publication. (Chapter 19) Again, fabulous job Jesse!!!

No plant foods are nutrient dense. Full of fibre we cannot digest, and water, on top of substances that reduce what we can absorb from the food. Crude protein is a joke unless you are a herbivore and are able to convert things like nitrates into protein. As omnivores we must eat animal products and that's where the majority of our intake of food should be from.
